No Limits is a charity which offers free and confidential information, advice, counselling, support and advocacy for children and young people under 26 who live in Southampton and Hampshire. All our services are confidential and free to young people. We rely on the support of volunteers, local partnerships and dedicated staff who help thousands of young people a year.
We work to a model of good practice supported by Youth Access (the national membership organisation for Youth Information, Advice and Counselling services), promoting rights based information, advice and support. We offer quick and easy access to specialist help through our drop in provision, backed up by our specialist services. This enables us to help young people holistically offering them support ‘under one roof.’
All our services strive to safeguard the welfare of children and young people to the highest standard. We aim to involve children and young people in the planning, delivery and evaluation of all our services.
No Limits will contribute a part-time DSA specialist to lead on provision of an accessible, community based “front door” to specialist DSA services for (CYP) aged 11 to 26 years via:
- Weekly drop-in sessions in all secondary and special schools, FE colleges and Universities (already funded through Public Health School Nursing, Health & Wellbeing & Substance Misuse contracts)
- NL Family Navigators providing early, community based interventions for children at risk of school drop-out
- 1 open-access drop-in centre in Central Southampton. This support provides an additional ‘safety net’ for some of the most vulnerable CYP at risk from DSA who have insufficient financial/emotional resources to access more structured services requiring appointments but who will engage with NL drop-ins for essential help including condoms, money/debt support, pregnancy / STI testing, phone, internet café, food, shower and laundry. This specialist DSA lead will act as NL PIPPA link bringing into the partnership specialist knowledge of Children and Young People (CYP) issues/services and cascading out DSA awareness/service updates to all NL staff and encouraging awareness, ownership and responsibility regarding DSA across NL services. If you are young person, or want to refer a young person, you can contact us by calling 02380 224 224.If you want to talk to the Drop In Centre.
